About us
Chenma Hayhurst
Sovereign birth mentor & postpartum doulaChenma is a homeschooling mum of two and a doula, who’s dedicated to creating spaces centred around the mother-baby dyad. Understanding the deeply interconnected relationship between a mother and her children, she offers a way to seek nourishment without separation.
At the heart of Chenma’s birth work is the mission to reclaim pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum as an innate, sacred process; a rite of passage. She bridges holistic care with the modern maternity system, creating space for women to make informed decisions whilst following their intuition, to claim bodily autonomy, self-leadership, and sovereignty. She is devoted to supporting women as they expand into a deeper sense of self, and experience their power being returned, not taken.
Chenma’s biggest joy is providing traditional postpartum care. She is passionate about how transformational this period can be and the importance of mothers being held accordingly. Her work is rooted in ceremony and she focuses on total health and gentle recovery, welcoming women into motherhood with love and a sacred honouring.
As a folk herbalist, Chenma loves to make plant remedies supporting the different stages of motherhood. She sees how the natural world plays a vital role in her own and others’ journeys, and is committed to creating spaces that are in harmony with the earths seasons and cycles.
“I am continually learning from those around me, the mothers I have had the privilege of supporting, and teachers in this field. I am open minded, respectful, and hold no judgment. Please join us however you are, you will always be welcomed with love.”
